Web11 set 2024 · We hiked to the top of Volcán Barú with José our guide! It was an amazing experience and we saw a lot of cool stuff on the way! However I don’t recommend hiking to the top to people who aren’t in great shape! It’s really hard and steep and you have to climb a lot! It takes 12h to go up and down. WebHiking to the summit of the Barú Volcano is also popular, although it should be noted that this is a serious, all-day trek. The hike runs steadily uphill for 13.5 kilometers (8.5 mi), which usually takes 4-5 hours. Along the way, you pass through shady forests and sheep-filled meadows, and get wonderful views of the valley below.
